The Legal Support Network is a community website for the Legal industry, built in Drupal. I worked on this site as lead developer for Catch Digital and this is possibly the largest site I have worked on to date, both in terms of development effort and content. The site features:

  • A bespoke events system
  • Google Maps integration
  • Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn authentication
  • XML integration with a third-party job board application
  • OpenX advertising management integration
  • Bespoke twitter feed
  • “Ask The Experts” section where users can post questions and choose a top answer
  • Sales Force integration
  • Flickr and YouTube integration
  • “Live search” engine
  • Automatically generated related content links

LSN Homepage

The site has a huge number of content types such as News, Blog Posts, Events, Videos, Podcasts, Case Studies etc. and makes use of Drupal Views to pull content on to the landing pages. Exposed Filters were used to allow users to search for events, while arguments and relationships were used for the “Ask The Experts” section.

The site contains a lot of bespoke jQuery, written to create the homepage and community hero areas, live Twitter feed updates, and the interactive NetworkPartner block.

Events pages feature Google Maps integration, collapsible sections written in jQuery, dynamic iCal file generation for users to add events to their Gmail or Outlook calendars, a registration system and SalesForce integration.

LSN Events

Due to the fact there are so many Drupal Views on each landing page, the site makes use of both page and view caching to vastly improve performance.
